GRAND FORKS LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE ATTENDS CANADIAN MEN’S CURLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN WINNIPEG
GRAND FORKS, ND – Approximately 40 members of the 2008 World Men’s Curling Championship Local Organizing Committee today attended the Brier in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The purpose of the trip was too meet with local organizers of the 2008 Canadian Men’s Curling Championship Committee and to learn what has been done to execute this major Canadian curling event. The committee will have representatives at the Brier throughout the entire tournament who will be promoting the Grand Forks championship to the large Canadian crowds.
Some of the Local Organizing Committee attending members include: Ralph Engelstad Arena staff, members of the Grand Forks Curling Club, the Greater Grand Forks Convention and Visitors Bureau, area businesses, and 2006 Men’s Curling Winter Olympic Bronze Medal winner, Pete Fenson.
The 2008 World Men’s Curling Championship begins in 25 days on April 5.
